Hi Hi,
Get this: When your bridesmaids (photog, video, family…) roll up into your house on your wedding day, they need coffee. What’s coffee’s best friend? A doughnut! Think about it, these are the people you need to be the most alert and the ones who, for the most part, have the longest day ahead of them. Trust us on this.
When we decided to do this mini shoot, it only made sense to tip our hat off to one of our favorite MUST stop coffee shops here in Canada. Problem is, I can’t tell you the name. (legally, blah blah blah) What I CAN say is that it sounds an awful lot like Mim Tortons…
What You’ll Need:
Doughnuts (pick up an assortment of your favs)
Doughnut Holes (again an assortment)
Coffee (don’t forget milk, cream, sugar, sweetner… enough for everyone)
Signage (totally not necessary, but very cute!) {I made these on my keynotes (Powerpoint for you PC peeps) }
Plates, paper, ribbon

In our past DIY tables, we have had a few peeps tell us that it costs too much have the pretty containers we own and so they can’t duplicate the table. Here’s my feedback. First of all, never duplicate anything you see anywhere. The point of any design is that the fans should be inspired to try it out themselves (with their OWN personal touch). Secondly, don’t be afraid to invest in a few pretty dishes, stands and interesting display items. You don’t have to go overboard and become us (we both have issues). All you need is some basic items to create beautiful tables for your partays!
To make this table, we purchased 5 boxes worth of assorted desserts. ALL of them (including the ones that didn’t make the cut) cost us 15 dollars. SERIOUSLY! You can also add bagels, muffins and mini peanut butter + jam sandwiches to the spread for your early birds. Have fun!

I couldn’t agree more about investing in serving ware. They make a huge difference from a design viewpoint. Plus, it saves you time if you already own some pieces. To save money or to create a unique look, you could make your own tier stand by glueing glasses on vintage plates.
What a nice idea. I’m a videographer, and as soon as I get started shooting a wedding, I forget to eat because I don’t want to miss a thing. Something easy to eat on the go that would help keep up my energy would be much appreciated!
We love how you’ve taken everyday, easy to purchase goodies from your local coffee shop and made them extra special. This totally makes DIY easy and fun for anyone!
